The Waves

Grief as many of you are probably aware is constantly described in the terms of waves. You are standing on a shore, in the water, but unaware as to when or where these waves will hit you. Are you going to be facing forward? Can you see the wave? Is the wave small enough to simply brush past you?

I personally could not describe my short and continual grief journey any better. From each and every angle waves may hit you, but what do you do when you are in the sea? You embrace the wave and you let it take you or you confront it and then you pick yourself back up. Maybe another wave will knock you down before you even have time to get back on your feet, leaving you short of breath, but what do you do? You accept that and you gradually pick yourself up after, and do you know the funniest part about it? You may even enjoy the points between the waves hitting you, you may be having fun splashing around in the water and even when a wave knocks you over, you may still to continue playing in the sea after that.

So take and embrace everything- no emotion or grief is wrong, nothing you feel is wrong, everything is so incredibly different for everyone and none of it is wrong. Allow your soul to embrace and take on your grief- you have to first fall over to even have the option of picking yourself back up.
